Choosing Slow Living: A Founder’s Note from Prune India

Choosing Slow Living: A Founder’s Note from Prune India

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would one day write this out loud, but I have to.

First, if you find this blog too human — it is meant to be.

Did you know that for every single prompt you type into your favorite AI, it uses energy equivalent to 14 electric bulbs lit for an hour? For just one prompt. And then we’re rarely allowed to stop at one.

Now imagine the reels we post daily, the content war we’re participating in, the ads we consume endlessly — and the generations who will bear the cost of what we are doing today.

I alone cannot save the world, but I can save 14 light bulbs’ worth of energy by choosing to write a blog myself.

The last two years have changed me — internally and externally.

I shifted to a slower life. I once built a business so I would never have to cook, and now I cook all my meals myself. I love preparing food in my own energy — praying before I eat, thanking my food and everyone who made it possible for it to reach me.

Accepting failure is a hard pill to swallow.

I had to read a lot, reflect deeply, and turn to Japanese teachings to truly learn how to accept it.

In 2026, Winter Bride and Signature Silk will be the final collections of their kind at Prune India. They will be retailed only until existing stocks last.

I wish I could remember the name of every bride who made Winter Bride and Signature Silk the star collections they became. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the brides, bridesmaids, and mothers who were part of this journey.

If you own a piece from these collections, please know — you are precious to me.

Thank you for being The Prune Bride.
